  5.         This is a short text file just to get you started.  There is a help
  6. file included with Route1 that explains all of its features, and how to use
  7. them.  I strongly recommend looking at the help file, so that you can take
  8. full advantage of Route1.  It explains how to access SubMenus, how to create
  9. scripts, and much more.  The help file is accessible through Route1 by
  10. pressing [?] on any menu or dialog box.

  14. To Install Route1:
  15.  
  16.         Select 'Run...' from Program Manager's 'File' menu, and type:
  17.                                 d:install
  18.         where d: is the disk drive where the Route1 installation disk is.
  19.  
  20. >If you are a previous user of Route1:
  21.  
  22.         version 1.x - your Route1.INI is NOT compaiable with version 2.2
  23.         version 2.x - your Route1.INI IS compatatible with version 2.2, and
  24.                       you might want to back it up or rename it before you
  25.                       proceed.

  27. >To install Route1 yourself:
  28.  
  29.         Copy all 170 Route1 files to their own directory.  It takes a
  30.         little over 1 Meg on your hard disk.  If you have VBRUN100.DLL
  31.         already in your WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories, you may
  32.         delete the one in the Route1 directory, otherwise it is a good
  33.         idea to it to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.  The icons are
  34.         also compressed in a DLL file.
  35.                 If you are using Windows 3.1, and wish to use that instead
  36.         of the  120 included ICO files, then you can copy R1ICONS.DLL into
  37.         your Route 1 directory, and remove any unwanted ICO files.
  38.         Warning:  do NOT delete BLANK.ICO!

  40. >To setup Route1:
  41.  
  42.         Add Route1 to a Program Manager or Quick Access group as you normally
  43.         would, or have Route1 appear when Windows is loaded by adding it to
  44.         the lines in WIN.INI starting with 'Load=' or 'Run='.

  46. >To learn about Route1:

  48.         1.  Select "Run..." from Program Manager's "File" menu, and type:

  50.                                 WinHelp
  51.  
  52.         2.  Select "Open" from WinHelp's "File" menu.
  53.         3.  Change to the directory where you have copied the Route1 files.
  54.         4.  Select "ROUTE1.HLP", and press "Ok".
  55.         5.  Follow the instructions under "Getting Started:  Installation"

  104.         First of all, if any harm should come to your system or files while
  105. Route 1 is installed, I take no responsibility.  Don't panic - Route 1 is
  106. safe . . . as long as you use protection . . .
  107.         Although some of the included icons are derivatives or enhancements
  108. of commercial program icons, it is not my intention to distribute any material
  109. that its creator(s) or legal owner(s) would object to.  I will immediately
  110. remove, or alter to their satisfaction, any icon(s) which is brought to my
  111. attention as proprietary in nature and should not be freely distributed.  The
  112. design, look, and feel of all the different parts of my program is either
  113. purely of my own invention, or a thorough alteration and combining of what I
  114. wished many other programs should be.  It is also not my intention, to mimic,
  115. or to lessen the effectiveness of any other software in existence. I wrote
  116. this program originally for my own use, and am distributing it for other
  117. people to use strictly for my own satisfaction of making something that
  118. someone else finds useful, or even necessary.
